**Re-Registration 2013-2014 Reminder!! Going on now! If you have not turned in your Re-registration form and registration fee for the next school year, please do so as soon as possible.

** Opening doors through early learning" We are proud to announce Transitional Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year. We will be accepting children who are Four Years old by September 1. This is a two-year literacy program that prepares children for First Grade.

** St. Joseph Elementary School Yearbooks on Sale for $25.00!!! Order yours now! Forms were included in the Parent Envelope! Send a message to your student in this year's yearbook!

** Parent Volunteers Needed! St. Joseph's PTO Board positions available - please sign up and help our school for the next school year!

** Tardiness - We are having a chronic problem with tardy students in the morning. It is imperative that your child be here by 8:00am. It is important for our students to know that being punctual and on time for school is a form of responsibility  If students see that their parents understand the importance of this, they will learn the value of being on time. If you bring your child to school late, please walk into the school to sign them in.

** RECYCLE YOUR OLD INK CARTRIDGES!! We are collecting old ink cartridges. We would appreciate as many as you can turn in to the office. These help us with our office supplies when we recycle them.

**PARKING REMINDER: As stated in the parent/student handbook, when you are arriving and departing from St. Joseph School, for the safety of the children, all vehicles MUST park behind the church. We do not allow you to park in front of the Church or School and walk
up.

** As stated in the Handbook, students should NOT be coming to the office to use the phone to find out who is picking them up, for forgotten PE clothes, practice clothes, shoes, homework, projects, etc. We are trying to teach our students responsibility and they must have everything they need and know who is picking them up after school when they get to school in the morning.

Year of Faith

Picture
Oct. 11, 2012 - Nov. 24, 2013 is the year of Faith -"In the Acts of the Apostles, we learn that God has opened the door of faith for the early Church. But did you know that God has opened the door of faith for each one us and he invites us to step through the threshold into a deeper  relationship with him. The upcoming Year of Faith is an opportunity for every Catholic to turn towards Jesus Christ, encounter him in the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist and rediscover the Faith and Church. With his Apostolic Letter of October 11, 2011,Porta Fidei. . . , Pope  Benedict XVI declared that a "Year of Faith" will begin on October 11,  2012 and conclude on November 24, 2013. October 11, 2012, the first day of the Year of Faith, is the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. . .  (Vatican II) and also the twentieth anniversary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. During the Year of Faith, Catholics  are asked
to study and reflect on the documents of Vatican II and the  catechism so that they may deepen their knowledge of the faith...."
